Yu Zhong applies Sha Residue to enemy heroes every time he deals damage to them. Sha Residue erupts upon reaching 5 stacks on a target. Then it begins consuming 1 stack every 0.4s to deal Physical Damage equal to 20 (+20% Extra Physical Attack) plus 2.5% of the target's lost HP to the target. Each stack consumed restores 6% of Yu Zhong's lost HP. When Sha Residue erupts, Yu Zhong also gains 30% Movement Speed for 3s.

Yu Zhong infuses his power into his cloak and turns it into a weapon, which starts to attack nearby enemies after a short delay. The inner area of the cloak deals 220 (+100% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage, whereas the sharpened edge deals 275% damage and applies 2 stacks of Sha Residue.

Yu Zhong unleashes the Dragon Soul, dealing 150 (+120% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage to all enemies in front and slowing them by 60% for 1s. Upon hitting an enemy, Yu Zhong's next Basic Attack will be enhanced, dealing 108 (+100% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage. Upon hitting multiple enemies, the enhanced Basic Attack will apply multiple stacks of Sha Residue and deal up to 200% damage.

In teamfights, open with Yu Zhong's Ultimate and run into the enemy's formation while knocking them around. When the enemy's backline heroes are exposed, use his Ultimate again to enter Dragonoid Form, and unleash his combo starting with his 2nd Skill then 3rd Skill, then 1st Skill to deal tons of damage. Finally, use the enhanced Basic Attack from his 2nd Skill to finish off the enemy.

Yu Zhong counters squishy Fighter heroes such as Aulus and Zilong, because they can't easily dodge Yu Zhong's skills and have a hard time with him in the early game.
Yu Zhong is countered by nimble Marksman heroes such as Lesley and Karrie, since it's hard for Yu Zhong to land his skills, making him a vulnerable and easy target.
Yu Zhong works well with Mages that can initiate with CC such as Vexana and Xavier. Their control effects allow Yu Zhong to land his skills more easily.

Yu Zhong leaps towards the designated area with his full strength, dealing 180 (+90% Extra Physical Attack) Physical Damage. He is able to dash one more time in the movement direction. After a short delay, enemies within the area of effect will be knocked airborne for 0.6s and take 180 (+90% Extra Physical Attack) additional Physical Damage.

After channeling for 0.6s, Yu Zhong transforms into his Black Dragon Form. For up to 7s, he cannot use any skills but can move freely and will knock back enemy heroes in his path while dealing 180 (+80% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage. He also gains 1000 (+200% Extra Physical Attack) Max HP, becomes immune to control effects, and ignores obstacles in this form. Upon exiting the Black Dragon Form, Yu Zhong enters Dragonoid Form, gaining increased range on all of his skills for 10s.
In the laning phase, use Yu Zhong's 2nd Skill to slow the enemy and leap on them using his 3rd Skill. When repositioning with the dash of his 3rd Skill, cast his 1st Skill to hit the enemy with the outer edge, and follow up with the enhanced Basic Attack from his 2nd Skill and finish the combo with a Sha Residue eruption.
